Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • 15” MacBook Air, M3, 16GB RAM (2024)

Who uses Windows for programming? (I'm joking... or am I?)

  • Custom PC (3060Ti | 3600X | 16GB RAM)

She's old but she runs Adobe, NukeX and Maya just fine (barely).

  • Tofu65 Redux

I made my own mechnical keyboard with KBDFans' Tofu65 Redux case with Leobog Graywood V3 switches and Jelly POM keycaps. It makes working satisfying.

  • Corsair RGB Ironclaw

I don't have anything productivity-related to say about this mouse. It's for gaming. Period.

  • Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved Monitor

If I'm going to be staring at a monitor all day, it might as well be a very nice one with 5K resolution and 120GHz refresh rate.

Development tools

  • Visual Studio Code

It has great shortcuts, great extensions, and it's free. What more could you want?

  • iTerm2

With oh-my-zsh, it's the best terminal experience I've ever had. Along with the hot-key windows which makes the terminal accessible from any desktop.

Animation

  • Autodesk Maya

The industry standard for 3D animation. It's powerful, it's complex, and allows for a lot of control. It's also a bit of a pain to use.

  • Adobe Suite

Mostly using Photoshop, Premiere and Animate to edit and create my animations, videos and illustrations. I also use After Effects for a bit of motion graphics.

Productivity

  • Raycast

This changed my life in terms of productivity. It's a launcher that replaces Spotlight with a lot more customisability and extensions to control your MacBook from one place.

  • Lookaway

Saved my eyes from the blue-light strain with reminders every 20 minutes to look away from the screen and remember I'm still alive.

  • Linear

Most people use it for project management, but I use it for personal task management. It's a bit overkill, but I like the UI.
